I think it is funny and ironic that this whole crappy auction drama really brought these forums back to life. It was all pretty much dead for a few days. I'm just glad that I don't have to basically talk to myself anymore, lol!IP: 67.169.248.240 |

ya know it makes me wonder who ASSEMbler's clientell are and who is lollercoaster and how does he know kurisu and that the build is authentic or i mean to say that the sale is authentic or something.ASSEMbler- please contact your clientell and tell him that we want the game showen to the public and possibly downloaded at no cost to anyone. The Sonic Xtreme game has been canned 10yrs ago so all legality issues are no longer concerend, if you are still working for Sega and/or Sonic Team and is afraid of losing your job then dont bother releasing the build. If not then it is your choice to release this build if you want to or not and if you do decide to release this build then it should be at no cost to you or to anyone else to share this build or even to at least let people download the build so people would see what Sonic Xtreme could have been if the game was completed. I thought I would give people an example of what they were missing to motivate them. But I suppose it's been thrown back in my face by sanik, truely demonstrating why the sonic community doesn't deserve anything, not even a video or an animated gif. So I bid you farewell.

Motivate us for what exactly??? You guys said that no copies will be made, and that anigif already demonstrates pretty much all that the demo disc had. If your new media would motivate us for anything it would be the watermarks in them motivating us to visit your site.IP: 84.0.149.250 |

Ok you know what, I have really grown tired of your silly blaim games. You can't make decisions for a whole community based on one member, what taste does that leave in the mouths of everyone else, some just feed into that blind anger. He just thought that he would put the name of the person that actually created it. Ya some may find that rude. But don't be petty and say that they are the reason nothing else will be released. You just love trying to turn people on eachother don't you? You are just playing with the sonic community and I for one do not appreciate it at all. You just always say its someone elses fault because you did not release something. I think people need to stop being petty and act proffesional for a change.

I fail to understand sanik's animosity towards to ASSEMbler, do you have some kind of personal grudge going way back? I also can't understand the fuss regarding someone wanting to sell the game, and then contacting ASSEMbler to do so. He is one of several leading figures regarding unreleased games (among other things), and so for those who move in these circles, his name is enough to warrant implicit trust, without need to "prove things".Anyway, I'm also a frequent poster on ASSEMbler's forum, and both himself and the community there I have found to be very helpful and open regarding the more obscure side of gaming. I am posting this here in defence of the community and ASSEMbler, since I am in their debt for aiding me regularly with my writing work. So, erm.. yeah, that's my two cents on things. And now I'm off for an afternoon gin and tonic, since the sun has finally come out! Toodle pip, chaps! IP: 213.36.108.163 |

We do not need to get into a flame war over this silly little gif demo. Blaming others is not going to help out at all. (infact it could destroy this community) In my personal view I feel that this topic has run its course and we need to stop this fighting.I just wish people didn't get all angry about this. I just lost 2 pages-worth of reply to this and don't have time to retype it now.Summary: 1) I don't care what ASSEMBler has provided before, he has not proven to me to be selfless or to act in a way appropriate for an administrator - or as a professional. "You had your chance now it's gone forever... so long suckers!" is an attitude in conflict with "community spirit" and certainly fit for someplace other than these forums. 2) What you saw in the tiny animated footage of the level may have been something designed to promote interest (though it was posted with the subtext "you'll live" which, by anyone would logically be interpreted as you'll live because everything will be okay... and I interpret that specifically to mean "you'll live because I have secrets... that I may or may not share depending on my mood and professionalism as it suits me...") which is honorable to share (if you actually share it!), but in reality, even if that was shared, it's far less than what you will be witnessing. So don't cry a river yet! 3) The community will be receiving VERY SOON materials unseen in the amount of actual video footage with actual gameplay and substance that span the 3-year development of Sonic Xtreme. This will be yours to view and discuss - and believe me, there will be A LOT to discuss. 4) SANiK is not why ASSEMBler stopped the purchase. SANiK has been a tremendous help in aiding the delivery of materials you have seen and will see in the Sonic community. He may be quick to judge and sometimes harsh, but his intentions are just, as are his actual and consistent actions for the benefit of this community. 5) Ganging up on, bad-mouthing, emotionally blaming and other pointless activities will not be tolerated here. Remember that there is never one reason for anything... This arguing will stop now or this thread will be locked from further input. I don't have time to babysit... So please play nice or I'll stop this car! IP: 66.229.30.214 |

ASSEMbler (or whoever the **** has the demo): Having it doesn't make you a god, it doesn't give you status or clout, nobody holds you in any regard just because OMG you have this thing in your posession. Stop being an immature twerp and either rip the disc and SHARE it with the community (and actually receive a bit of "glory", if that's what you're looking for), otherwise STFU and GTFO. Seriously, if you're not going to contribute, just leave, and you can sit by yourself in your room clinging to the piece of plastic you covet so much. Well, isn't there that small possibility of another copy floating about out there? Sure if one copy fell into a horder, it's not a total loss, but I am quite relieved that wasn't the engine they wanted to develope the game on.Even though it's a concept, I would like to play it. It's funny though, because when I saw the first video of gameplay released of the game, the gameplay was of something that hasn't been done before, or something that i've never seen before, and that's what made it unique. I guess one screenshot I can just pull out of my butt would be this: Now tell me if that doesn't impress you. If something such as this is not in a 800kb demo written on a Mega CD disk, then i'm not completely satisfied. But who knows, perhaps before 2012 we'll be able to play the engine that was featured on that early roll of film! Call a physic [edited March 14, 2006 by evilhamwizard] IP: 24.115.209.248 |

How could you expect maturity out of someone such as ASSEMbler? The fact alone that he had sold others hard work for thousands of dollars alone is a SURE sign of immaturity... But the fact that he took the truth like a punk and cried home to his mommy with the only retaliation being the witholding of material that isn't even rightfully his really took the cake. I also didn't know that was ASSEMbler under that account, Saz.You know, we may not have this demo, but that's okay. What Chris here is giving us is much more than any crappy test engine could. ASSEMbler gave us false hope. Kurisu is giving us Sonic X-Treme. That, I believe, is enough to let us able ourselves to brush this incident off as it truly is: A load of crap. Good show, Chris. Okay you guys... you've made your points (and I appreciate your appreciation for what I'm trying to do). I think it's clear to everyone what has and is going on...Without help from members here, I couldn't deliver some of what you'll see and couldn't store any of what has been shared so far either... and the show of support overall has been great... I'm not afraid of an argument ruining this forum - but we have to look past stinky situations like this. I suggest we let this go and proceed with conversations relating to Sonic Xtreme... fair enough? IP: 66.77.144.8 |

1. Motivate us to what, pay you a nice sum for a barely playable build of an outdated Saturn game? The Sonic community would like to have it, not pay hundreds of dollars for it. 2. Why we don't deserve anything? Are we supposed to be grateful that you're offering to release this to us at a cost of tons of money that most of the people in this community lack? What are we supposed to do next, start praying to you towards your house every morning? Drop the elitistic prick attitude. You're just looking for cheap money and thought that this was valuable enough to hang over the Sonic community's head until we started paying you. EDIT: Whoops, missed kurisu's last post. Well, consider this the end then, or something. [edited March 14, 2006 by Guess_Who] IP: 69.151.179.73 |

If you're inquiring about this one: Then the answer is yes and no. Everything in it is from a Jade Gully level I put together, but the background sky was added post in Photoshop (you can clearly see the blue edges around the terrain in the lower-right quadrant of the image - that's evidence of how quickly I had to do it - as a teaser screenshot 10 years ago...). Something to note is that the background sky could easily be part of the game - it's just at the time, when we needed screenshots, I didn't have a background I was happy with - so I grabbed a shot then added it... so it could be added at any time... then mix a little lense flare tech in there and whammy! ...it's a legit screenshot.
