Howdy,

From now on, if I have any general announcements for the community, I'll post them here.

Please scroll to bottom for latest update.

UPDATE: I've made some good progress on the Sonic Xtreme Compendium (SXC). I still haven't decided whether I'll break up the SXC into sections and release them as such, or bundle the whole shabang, but however I do it, I estimate next month being a release date for something juicy.

If you reply with tangent or off-topic remarks, that is OKAY.

HOWEVER, if your "off-topic" remarks combined with others go for too long (say 2 or 3 replies total), please start a new thread to continue that new conversation. This way, everyone can share as they like and we can keep a more organized collection of conversations.

BONUS: If you want to go above and beyond, when starting a new topic like this, copy and paste the relevant conversation from the original topic to start! That will help readers follow the old conversation and the new in the same topic!

Sound good? Thank you very much and I must go bye bye!

Hey folks, I'm sorry I haven't posted much lately, but wanted to let you know I've been reading most of what's been shared here. Impressive webdesigns and game projects going on - keep up the great work!!!

I've been working on the SXC and have decided to break it up into sections that I'll release as they're finished. I'll be sharing the next batch of music tonight (eta 3-4 hours from now) and will participate in discussions this weekend.

Ciao for now!

SXC: Environments in progress.

You guys should know that this one is HUGE. It's probably the biggest section! lol ...so to start with that means it takes longer to see something. Yeah, yeah... I know it sounds like an excuse - but it's TWOO!!!

I'm hoping to include textures, level descriptions and actual level maps for Xtreme. To tide you guys over, I will probably drop a huge surprise your way soon... that's all for now!

Major strides forward with the SXC... Figured out a presentation that is super simple and efficient (good for anyone with low bandwidth). Environments+ are in progress. I estimate 1-2 weeks to release - but will update you in a week with a more concrete deadline.

In the meantime - hello to existing members - and welcome to new ones!

Hi folks,

This message talks about community spirit and touches briefly on this weekend's "fiasco."

I want to commend all of you who exercised supportive, positive community spirit in this forum, especially following the April Fool prank.

A prank was played on fans of Sonic Xtreme in which a supposed playable version of the game existed on a torrent. Feelings were hurt, time and bandwidth were wasted and many people, out of loyalty or out of anger, took part in community vs. community and individual vs. individual trash-talking. In the end, this prank should serve as a lesson for all of us - Always try to consider your actions and words and how they may affect others.

As I have stated, I am very sorry for any harm I may have caused by not revealing that it was a prank. I will never do anything like this again and am sad to know how much of a negative impact it had. I should be serving as an example, not as a promoter of behavior that can hurt anyone!

Following the prank, ASSEMbler's forums were DDOS'd which put the site out of commission. As a result of this attack, the customers who pay him to host their sites have suffered. This is no laughing matter and is very serious. I intend to help in any way that I can to identify any individuals who took part in this malicious behavior. If you have any factual information that may lead to identification of said individual(s), please let me or ASSEMbler know.

The leaders of the Sonic Cult and ASSEMbler forums and I are trying to work together to reach peaceful co-existence for our communities. There is no good reason for negativity or prolonging its ill effects. You can help further this community by showing everyone how positive you can be. Please refrain from calling anyone names, putting down someone or being just plain mean. If you feel the need to be mean, go get a punching bag and work out your frustrations on it. But please leave the bag and any baggage at the door when you enter these forums.

I have created an archive area called "The Box" in the Learning Guild to which threads that are deemed too disruptive to the community will now go. This should help us stay focused on things fun and interesting, like... Sonic Xtreme!

As I announced on April 1st, this Wednesday (Pacific Standard Time), the first batch of the SXC will be released. Should be exciting!

I want to encourage everyone to continue to build this community with a supportive, creative, humorous, informative and inquisitive nature.

Thanks again,
-kurisu (aka "Christian Senn")

SXC Alpha Section 1 releases soon! - I'm shooting for 6pm Pacific Standard Time today for the first batch of the SXC release.

Here is what you'll get:

* Environments section (lots of pictures to look at, including concept art, level layout screenshots, etc.

* Crystal Frost video (you may have seen screenshots before)

* Website presentation (supports future growth with new content, content modification, etc.)

I have spent countless hours sorting through mountains of information, and will be polishing what you see after this release. I plan to provide more explanation for overall and individual components as time permits.

Stay tuned!

www.sonic-xtreme.com and images hosted here will be down in several hours at 2 AM GMT for up to 24 hours due to hxc's server being upgraded.

This may very well impact the release of SXC. Worst-case scenario - Installment 2 releases Thursday, Pacific Standard Time.

(PS: Thanks again for hosting Sonic Xtreme images, hxc!!!)

Visited E3 yesterday and the Sony party. Fun fun fun! A zillion people, a zillion games, noise, flashing lights, giant video monitors suspended from the high ceilings... 'Twas fun playing Sonic Rivals and SH for next gen... Silver was cool. Sony party had tons of food, tons of music, band playing at the Dodger Stadium mesa... was a fun day. But honestly, what we're about to embark on with Project S is much more exciting to me. I was a little disappointed some of the design choices with the Sonic games, to be honest, and I think although it will be very difficult to match the graphic wow they created... we might just be able to make a smoother, more polished game experience!

For those who are awaiting tests, please be patient. I'm being creative with how I assign tests and the actual tests themselves - and trying to keep up with all the applications... don't worry - you'll get your chance to shine though!

Team 08... you're up first. All teams now have access to view and post replies (not topics) in your Team 08 forum.

I hope it helps!

All team forums are open for testing teams to participate in. I apologize for the delay - I was hoping to have critiques for everyone to open each team's private forum, but I just haven't had the time. Any future critiques will happen based on request.

Great enthusiasm with Project S. As a result of this community's interest and participation, I have commenced behind-the-scenes preparation for Project S.

Soon you will have access to the Project S Development forums in which you will find topics already created to either organize our efforts, or to inform you of information I think you'll find helpful.

In the meantime, please keep participating in the the 3 live Project S topics here at the Senntient forums. I will let you know when the new forum is ready.

hxc - when you return, please shoot me an email, as I'm waiting on you to unveil this!
