Excellent pictures! Her personality emerges... Although I'd have to asphyxiate her if I spent more than 5 minutes in her company (LIKE OMG!), she'd definately be a fun character to play. Now where, oh where, is Professor Gazebo? It's like you're holding the picture just out of reach... surely there are many pictures of him and you can just show one right now?... I lie awake at night wondering "When is he going to show Gazebo?" "Why hasn't he shown Gazebo yet?" "Where is Gazebo?". My purpose in life has been expanded with the objective "To see a picture of Gazebo Boobowski". Please tell, when are you going to show the professor? *Pleads* IP: 88.105.146.180 |

Not as much as Megaman is nowadays with "Roll Soul Megaman.EXE" and whatnot. But that's unrelated. (Note: If Dr. Eggman made an evil girl robot, he would name it Mecha Amy. If Dr. Wily made an evil girl robot, he would have to name it GirlMan.)IP: 69.115.18.59 |

GirlMan? Isn't that Zero? *shot*Those sketches are amazing. I've always like sketches better than finished line drawings. Always seemed more organic. Anyway. I'm curious about the second sketch. The one after the battle-suit/Mecha-Tiara one. One pose is her looking at some sort of little critter. Another is her reading a book. But what is that other one. It looks kinda like she's sneezing, but also kinda like she's sticking her tongue out at someone. XD IP: 65.185.143.72 |

Erm.. you know, I was curious about Gazebo too, but there is some sketched stuff here: http://xtreme.projectsonic.com/storyboards/sxc_boards1e.jpg In the following storyboard, this person was called "Professor". Geez, do some lookin' around. XD Be patient, too. I'm sure Chris is working on a lot of stuff right now. IP: 68.107.130.165 |

Looks quite clearly like a razz to me. (EDIT: But upon looking at it again, I can see how it could be mistaken for a sneeze. ;P )

I'm still curious about which version of Tiara this image was: I'm just posting this again, in case it's missed. Also, Chris, if it's alright with you, would it be alright if Tiara makes a chameo appearance in a sonic fan comic that I make called tete-a-tete? In short, it's a sonic fan comic that pokes fun at all the little things that a lot of sonic fan comics don't usually touch on. A lot of time, it's almost insulting the fanbase, but it's all just tough love. you can see what i got so far by clicking here [edited January 18, 2006 by Elmatto] IP: 146.7.200.14 |

Adamis - lol... yeah, this was just a brainfart... nothing more came of it. But, who's to say it won't appear in someone's fan art and get developed... H Hog - Good guesses... Booby makin' armored suits... I can totally see the halberd! Cool! She needs a banner... I'm glad you like the sketches - and good to see her personality shows through in them. Here's a sketch of that "wild (robot)life" you mention: This is very similar to one of the very first enemies I designed when I was "getting a handle" on what the enemy style should be. Ultimately, I went for more of a classic look. You'll see in the 50+ enemy designs a trend of styles... the earlier designs compared to the later ones. I "got the hang of it" later on - mixing a balanced diet of details, rest spots for the eyes, character and purpose for each enemy. Boy that was fun! Stay tuned for those! Here is a collection of stick pose concepts that led me to the actual sketches shown earlier in this thread: And the following combines both the enemy and her respective pose: SANiK - "You're a mean one... Mister Grinch!" Bursting bubbles and revealing the magician's tricks! Even if you are the Gandalf! ...BAH HUMBUG! ...(lol) Elmatto - That image is the "final" draft of Tiara. I refined her form and costume in this pic. But, as some have mentioned, it's less "cute" and more "mature"... and looking at them now, me likes the cutie ones more! Oh, and you are more than welcome to feature Tiara in your comic. Which version do you prefer? Or will you surprise us? (and awesome comics, btw! I only had time to view half a dozen - but I laughed!) Keith - I had an image of a "Raider of the Lost Art" there for a second... with the "secrets revealed" comment. lol Thanks for the uber-kind words, mi amigo. I've always loved to sketch... imagine a game that uses all sketched 2D assets... maybe texture map a 3D world with sketched textures... and get the characters to fit in that style... woo woo! (I remember when I first saw "Viewtiful Joe" I almost fainted it was so awesome!) And H Hog interpreted the pose... razz it is. Exabyte256 - Thanks for the complimentos! ...and a big, fat, hairy LMAO to the Booby pleading! I shared a tidbit of him... but there's more to come! AngstOverlord - And thank you, too! And ditto with the Gazebo bobana bobana bana... lol darkshadow - OMG - Yeah - wasn't it in the Red Shoe Diarrheas? lmao Jason - "GirlMan"... rofl... and he would sing songs like "do you really want to hurt me." I always thought Boy George's real name was "BoyGirl." *runs off* Cherri - Thank you for that help and support. *wheezes* I appreciate it! [edited January 20, 2006 by kurisu] IP: 24.126.160.81 |

Elmatto - lol... I know, when I dug up those pictures and saw the "chest variations," I almost died! Cool beans about the comic - let us know when you buss out dat chit, mang! Keith - Cool. I was imagining a game that just had that style - like every frame was wavy as if drawn... maybe the whole game starts in black and white as if done in pencil... maybe the overall "white" of the bg is gray and flickers and dents in spots as if they're animation papers being replaced... maybe the goal of the whole game is to "bring color back to the world"... Hmm. That sounds neat! Psychobob - Nope. The mallet was just a silly prop I sketched in that sequence. If you look closely, you'll see the first drawing of her gazing curiously at the bug-bot that's landed on her hand... then the next she's frowning, angry about something (I was thinking it stung her)... then she gets pissed and... dispatches it. Keith - What I'm imagining is more like an animated movie with each frame being hand-drawn... the lines are sketchy and wavy between frames so everything retains non-static life to it. Not "clean" like Streetfighter games that are hand-drawn... more like disney sketches or any animated hand-drawn film before the frames are cleaned up.Soda - lol... WHO THE HECK IS STEVE?! Not of much import, but one game I know of uses the concept vaugely. Cubivore for the GC has you defeating the Metal Cubivores to bring color back to the world, because the Cubies die without it. And to defeat other Cubies and make it with the ladies. Survival game of the most bizarre. Okami for PS2 is supposed to use color as an indicator for land prosperity, I think? It's got the freaky hand-drawn look going on, too. I know too much about weird titles. IP: 12.226.76.67 |

Ah, I knew that the idea of a game where your goal is to bring color to the world sounded familiar, and now I just remembered where from! There is an SNES game called "Troll Islands" that I played many years ago (...yeah. I was younger back then and...and...listen. I played it. I shouldn't have to justify it). It was based off of the Troll toys that were basically short figures with jewels on their bellybuttons (I'm not sure about this; anyone who still has a troll figure will have to confirm this for me, as I haven't seen any of them in years) and big hair that sticks up (Hehe, Super Trolls!). In the game, you restore color by merely walking through a black and white section of the level. When you do so, the ground below you becomes colored. There were enemies in the level, too, and you attacked them by throwing cream pies at them. Once they've been pied, you eat them (Haha, it was a very weird game, looking back. I should see if the place I used to rent it from still has it). IP: 68.103.4.252 |

Sorry for continuing the off-topic, but "Trolls in Crazyland" was a localization (troll-ization?) of the great Japanese game "Doki Doki Yuuenchi". The original main character was some guy with a big helmet who used different kinds of balls to defeat his enemies (from tennis balls to footballs, I believe), and didn't feature any kind of troll-related stuff. It was supposed to be released as just "Crazyland" before somebody decided to change the graphics and stuff.Try looking for that game if you want to play the original version or if you just get tired of running around naked. ------------------ For a good time... For the first time ever, in the 5 or 6 years I've administrated this forum, I edited someone's post. I've made it a point to never touch anyone's posts out of respect for them. I have always asked first before if I ever felt any edits of someone's post might help. But, just now, I broke that trend.Brandon, to save time and make viewing of this topic more convenient for those using browsers that display long links in one line, thereby stretching the page width, I edited two of your posts. In so doing, I simply replaced the link text to read "Click me!" (without editing the link itself) and added the "EDIT" text at the bottom of both posts. You are more than welcome to change your posts - and please tell me if this was/is okay, okay? I understand if it's a problem. As moderator and admin, I understand I have the power to do anything I want with the forum, but that is not how I moderate or administrate... so this is a break in my "tradition" and want to know your thoughts (and anyone else if they have an opinion). There can just never be enough options. And it makes it way easier for people who can't draw to frighten people with vaugely Sonic-y characters.
