Hi Dave - unfortunately, you're right... if you view the path of an image that is already online somewhere (like your image, for example) by right-clicking on the image and selecting 'Properties'... either the path will end in an image... such as /hercules.jpg ...or it will end with some funky extension such as "user_image-1015536194jqm"... which is not a valid image file type.)I tried to see if there was a way to display it by modifying the name and/or path... but to no avail [edited March 09, 2002 by kurisu] IP: 64.168.188.230 |

Thanks for trying Kurisu, I had sent you an email to say it had failed, for some reason that I can't follow it was returned. I did it again and got the same result. Technology is so very weird to us Techno failures. DaveIP: 213.122.176.83 |

i think, robo is right about renderosity... having your pic there would allow for linking into here, Dave! i’ll give it a try with one of mine: yup! a .jpg remains a .jpg there (at least as by now). i hope you are registered there already, so it would take just a few minutes to make your great hercules in here (i’ll edit & make mine disappear as soon as you managed to upload it into here)- juandel IP: 212.186.103.243 |

Hmm, sorry Juandel, but I think it was showing up for you because it was already in your browsers cache. It doesn't show for me, so I think renderosity doesn't allow direct linking either. ------------------ <Maybe intelligence isn't all it's cracked up to be.> <Maybe we're fools, for thinking we know things. Thanks everybody for your help, I will give that link a try Muvlo. Kurisu I tried an email again today and it hasn't come back so it's got to you or it's lost in techno ether. Somebody told me to print my image, then spit on the back of it and stick it to my monitor screen. Then apparently I chant appear on Senntient Forums 3 times, this has to be done in elvish, it then appears on the forum. Well that's technology for you, anybody got an elvish phrase book. Dave, in the HELP page, there's a link in the Uploading section to this place: http://webhost.thelist.com/personal It allows you to select what elements you would like in your web host... for example, if you want to search for "FREE" web hosts, you just check 'free' and so on... Give it a try! IP: 68.7.58.229 |

Hi Kurisu, I’m very impressed that even though I haven’t displayed my image, the number of responses on Senntient are not that far short of the responses I received on another well known forum where I did display my image. Scientific research has shown that overall satisfaction is greater for members of Senntient forum than for members of many other brands of forum, anyway this is a whole lot easier because I don’t have to create an image only a title. Well here’s my next title, ‘Am I cracking up, or what’. Let me know what you think, is the lighting right, is the depth of field right and who is that man in the white coat coming to my front door? I am working through that list thanks Kurisu, but I'm not sure exactly whats on offer in some, plus I'm going to see If I get any joy with getting the pic on the site Muvlo suggested. lol Dave! Well, the number of responses are directly proportional to the number of people frequenting the forum (or something). I really like your image. The title is somewhat misleading for me, though. 'Am I cracking up, or what' makes me think of a story about a walnut - the little walnut that could... and the lab-coat people are trying to implant electrodes in his little tiny walnut head. The lighting blends very well with the (page) background. I think you did a fine job with the colors - the little children being flattened by the steamroller is a nice touch. What about the swing set, though? Shouldn't the dumptruck be next to it, rather than in it? IP: 64.168.191.71 |

lol, I definitely see potential here. The artist creates the title then without the unecessary intrusion of unwanted images, the viewer can from that title input whatever content they think it contains. This surely must be minimalist art at its best. Art Galleries could then be the size of a phone-booth, with one book listing the titles. The Thinkist Art movement is on its way. Hi Kurisu, I think I should clarify the meaning of the Thinkist artistic concept for other readers of this thread. The Titles are to give them their full name, Cerebral Creative Imaging Titles, which are extremely environmentally friendly concepts. No materials used only the ink to write the titles, no waste and no space to speak of taken up. Now to your title, overall I think the work is exceptional, as the image began to reveal itself in my mind the Chinese village immediately told the story. It was obvious that the remnants of the Taliban fighters had regrouped in the minivan and escaped into China. The image shows that they are holding the elders of the village hostage and their master plan is to poison the worlds rice supplies as they are in a rice-growing region. The colours are magnificent, the dirty greys and the muddy browns add to the depressive feeling the image imparts. I think any inclusion of colours such as burnt sienna would have added unacceptable warmth to the image A couple of points I’m not happy with are first the satellite dish on one of the village houses, not believable as they have no electricity supply. The second is the dead traffic warden who clamped the Taliban’s minivan, I am afraid he is a noticeable unreconstructed Poser figure. The Poser nose and ears are totally obvious and the dead position you have him in with bent legs displays the rather square and sharp edged Poser knee’s, this failure to resculpt these items could lose you the £20,000 Turner Prize this year. Thinkist Art is the future. Dave Grand Master of Thinkism .

lol - thanks for the clarification, Dave. I think readers everywhere will appreciate the significance of this new art form of expression you have created As to your comments: I totally agree. But, what about the rest of the picture? I've never heard anyone comment so much on such a small portion of a picture. I mean - who would have thought all that could come from a tiny 12x12 pixel polaroid picture held in the hand of a Roman Catholic Priest???? What about the 3-legged dog and the gypsy king? Or the one-eyed shoplifter named Grogg? PS: I do agree that sienna would be totally inappropriate. lol PPS: Poser. PPPS: BAHHAHAHAAHAAAA!! rofl [edited March 13, 2002 by kurisu] IP: 64.168.188.164 |
