I've been trying to do what you've done in GM8 for a while would you mind sending me one of the levels in .Game Maker File so I can see how you did it?

Re-Volt, I'm sorry but I do not feel comfortable releasing Sonic Xtreme GM8 in .gmk file of any kind at this time. (NOT EVEN ONE LEVEL) I would be happy to help you with what things I have done that you are curious about, but you should start by being more specific. What things have I done in my project that you are also trying to do?
Winged Wolf released this engine a long time ago and it is available for download but you have to ask him where to get it. His version has only basic elements however as I have made major additions to this thing as you can see from my videos above.
I will release my modified version of the engine for anybody to use, but that won't be exactly the same as my game and that won't happen until after I release the game.

That's better thanks.
Any way this looks good keep up the good work! smile1

I am releasing some videos of some work I've been doing all week because I need feedback.
I have came up with 2 different ways to do the invincibility  effect (the one where sonic jumps on the white spinning ball with his face) and I can't decide which one looks better:

(1) The first one, which looks more like a dome------>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyA5426agRA

(2) Or the second which is more close to the real sonic Xtreme--->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ull2HKxTiUQ

(3) Also I have done some physics work like the homing attack and spin dash. I changed the sparkle effect on the ring when you collect it and I completely remade my springs. Also in this video you get to see the starfox 64 style flying gimmick I have added via the fly monitor. I would like to know what everybody thinks of these changes as well.  LOOK!!!------>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUXTIn2_0bU

Second one looks good.  I really don't think the homing attack should be in a Sonic Xtreme game, but all is good. Its your game.

Wow, i really like the little game you created. On a side note, several of us created Sonic X-treme covers as a contest here. Maybe you can get an idea for yours if not you can stay with the one you have. Check it out.

This was my idea for my cover:

Is that all?
_______________________________________________________________
put the following in the Create Event for obj_player

aero_mode=0

Add the following code to the step event
if aero_mode=0
z+=zspeed
zspeed-=0.8

Add the following GM events to the step event
if aero_mode is equal to 1
set the vertical speed to -5
________________________________________________________________

From there you just set up your different flying animations to the event keys corresponding direction and tadaaa! Sonic can fly and stuff!

I don't really know how to explain it any better than that, so I hope that helps.

EDIT]------> BTW this trick is for the StarFox 64 Style flying, the little on-rail gimmick I created
to just make him hover all you have to do is set up a flying animation and set and event to change his z.

That's really nice. Out of all of them, I like your cover the best. I just made mine because I was bored it wasn't really meant to be cover art but more so promotional art I guess. I would like to use your cover for my game however that would require me to edit it because the logos and markings and screenshots on the backside do not match my game. Can I do that? If I do I'll give you credit. If not do you want to make some promo art or a cover for me?

blehh. Maybe I won't use it. I was just looking at it and I think it will be too hard to edit the main logo without the .psd file. Also I wanted to change the text on the back a little. Do you think you can get it for me later? If not maybe I'll just try to re-create your cover with my changes.

Yeah man, i have the .psd file just not on me at the moment. The.psd file is little sloppy because it was my last minute entry for the contest.

Hey guys! I thought I may actually give Sonic another go. I haven't tried to make a Fangame for like.. a year or more actually, and I really don't want to make a full fangame ( I'd reather finish my own stuff (See: Project Aurora) ), but when I release Project Aurora in November, and IF I happen to have some free time and IF YOU REMIND ME TO, I may actually give you another Sonic-X-Treme-Thingy-GameMaker-Example...Thingy, in other words, a Proper Sonic Xtreme Example for GameMaker.... And with only one condition - it would never appear outside of this forum, lol.

Oh and, those videos look pretty cool! Keep it up! tongue1

Hm... It looks good, though it might help to lower the time limit for the power-ups, as well as lower the extra speed from the speed boost so that the controls are smoother.
